Frequently Asked Questions:
How can I properly rim the glass with salt and chili powder?
To ensure an even rim, you’ll want to rub the lemon wedge around the entire outer edge of the glass.
Then, roll the moistened edge in the salt and chili mixture.
Make sure your salt and chili mixture is well combined and spread out evenly on the plate for best results.
What kind of beer is best for a Michelada?
Traditionally, a light, Mexican beer is used.
However, any lager or light beer should work fine.
Avoid using heavy, dark, or strongly flavored beers as they can overpower the other flavors in the Michelada.
What if I don’t like spicy drinks?
The beauty of this recipe is that it’s customizable.
If you don’t like spicy, you can reduce or eliminate the chili sauce.
If you find that you miss the flavor, but not the heat, you might try using a milder hot sauce or add a dash of paprika for some smokiness.
What kind of soda should I use for a non-alcoholic Michelada?
A clear soda like club soda, seltzer, or even a lemon-lime soda would work best.
You want something that will provide the carbonation and not interfere with the existing flavors.
