How to make Puff Pastry With Asparagus, Prosciutto And Cheese
Ingredients
2 sheets puff pastry
8 ounces Gruyere Cheese, freshly grated
1 bunch Asparagus, trimmed and washed
12 slices Prosciutto
1 egg beaten
1 tbsp Olive Oil
1 tsp Thyme, dried
Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 425*
Line a baking tray with parchment paper
Roll the puff pastry sheets into 6 squares
Cut into rectangles
In a bowl combine the Olive Oil, Thyme, salt and pepper and the Asparagus, toss to coat
Arrange a slice of Prosciutto, folding if need be, on each rectangle of pastry puff dough
Top this with 3 to 4 pieces of Asparagus and then 2 tbsp of grated Gruyere
Grab two opposite corners of the dough and bring together, wrapping around the asparagus, pinching to seal
Using the beaten egg, brush each puff pastry bundle with the egg wash
Sprinkle with a pinch of salt and pepper
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until golden brown and puffy.
Serve immediately
