Ground Beef Stroganoff
Ground Beef Stroganoff
Ingredients:
6 oz egg noodles
1 lb ground beef
¼ cup butter
¼ cup all-purpose flour
1 cup beef stock
1 ¼ cup whole milk
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
½ tsp black pepper
¾ tsp salt
¼ cup sour cream
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Egg Noodles
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Add the egg noodles and cook according to package directions until tender.
Drain well and set aside.
Step 2: Brown the Beef
While the pasta cooks, heat a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the ground beef and cook for 6–8 minutes, breaking it apart with a spoon until fully browned.
Drain off any excess grease, transfer the beef to a plate, and set aside.
Step 3: Create the Roux
In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
Sprinkle in the flour and whisk continuously for 2 minutes until smooth and lightly golden.
Step 4: Add the Broth
Slowly pour in the beef stock while whisking to avoid lumps.
Cook for 3–4 minutes, stirring, until the mixture starts to thicken.
Step 5: Stir in the Milk
Gradually add the milk, whisking constantly.
Simmer for 5–7 minutes until the sauce develops a creamy, velvety texture.
Step 6: Season the Sauce
Mix in the garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
Stir well to evenly blend the seasonings.
Step 7: Bring It All Together
Reduce the heat to low. Return the cooked ground beef and noodles to the skillet.
Toss everything until fully coated and heated through.
Step 8: Add the Sour Cream
Fold in the sour cream, stirring until the sauce becomes rich, silky, and slightly tangy.
Step 9: Serve
Dish up the stroganoff while hot.
Pair with roasted vegetables, a crisp salad, or garlic bread for a hearty meal.
