How to make KFC COLESLAW

Ingredients for 4 persons

Half a white cabbage (about 250 gr).

A carrot.

A small shallot or a piece of onion, depending on your preference.

30ml of milk.

30 ml of fermented milk (called buttermilk in Belgium).

60 g of mayonnaise.

A tablespoon of white vinegar.

A tablespoon of lemon juice.

25 g of sugar.

Salt.

Pepper.

Caraway seeds (optional).

Preparing the coleslaw salad

1/ Slice the cabbage.

2/ Slice the carrot.

3/ Slice the shallot. If you take an onion, prepare the equivalent of a tablespoon.

4/ Mix cabbage, carrot and shallot or onion in a salad bowl.

5/ Prepare a mayonnaise with an egg yolk, a teaspoon of mustard, a spoon of white vinegar and sunflower oil.

6/ Prepare the coleslaw sauce by mixing: mayonnaise, plain milk, buttermilk, white vinegar, lemon juice, sugar, salt and pepper.

7/ Add the chopped vegetables to the coleslaw sauce, mixing well.

8/ Cover the salad bowl and leave to rest for several hours in the refrigerator.

9/ When serving, you can sprinkle the coleslaw salad with a few caraway seeds. It’s a delight !

10/ Serve with a big crunchy pickle. They are called “pickles” in New York!
