How to make Vanilla Buttermilk Pound Cake With Cream Cheese Glaze
1 package 8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup water
4 large eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
To make a basic powdered sugar glaze (optional recipe), you will need:
2 cups powdered sugar
1 t vanilla
3-4 tablespoons milk or half-half
Step 1: Prepare the pan and preheat the oven
Step 2: Mixing all ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the canned cake mixture, water, eggs, cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract and vegetable oil. Using an electric mixer, beating ingredients at low speed for 1 mn. After a minute of mixing, scrape the sides of the bowl and beat for two minutes at medium speed.
Step 3: Bake the cake
Once the mixture is well mixed and smooth, pour it into your prepared cake pan. Baking for 35 to 40 mn . On a wire rack, let the cake cool completely.
Step 4: Make the icing (optional)
If desired, add more milk or half-half to thicken the consistency. Once the cake is completely cooled, sprinkle the top with icing.
